The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs first puck drops of the season ended in wins. The local hockey team started their regular season strong with two wins against the Whitecourt Wolverines on Friday, Sept. 14, and Saturday, Sept. 15.

A new football league in the area teaches the fundamentals of the game without the physical aspects.

The final puck drop on the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs exhibition season ended on a high note. The Pontiacs beat the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-2 in the last exhibition game on Sept. 5. Their regular season starts on Friday, Sept.

The Friday night light shined brightly on the Bonnyville Voyageurs as they fought their way to a win during their first home game of the season. The Voyageurs beat the Cold Lake Royals 41-7 at Walsh Field on Friday, Sept. 7.

The Bonnyville Renegades battled hard against the Cold Lake Rams during their first home game of the season last week. Although the home team fell to the Rams 32-31 on Monday, Sept.

Another rodeo weekend has come to a close, and so has another Rodeo Mile race. The Rodeo Mile went off without a hitch on Sept. 1, prior to the annual parade, as 72 racers took to the 1.6 km stretch on main street.

Magnifique! About 500 French-speaking students from around the province will compete in a two-day sports tournament in Lac La Biche County in 2019.

As August came to a close, the Portage College Voyageurs men’s hockey team grabbed their sticks, laced up their skates, and hit the ice. On August 29, training for the Voyageurs commenced.

On August 30, the Portage College Voyageurs announced Claude Bolton as the Head Coach for the new Men’s and Women’s Soccer Program.
