The Glen Avon Panthers had a strong showing at their home volleyball tournament on Sept. 22 and 23. Younger teams competed on Friday, while the older junior high teams took to the courts on Saturday, at Glen Avon School and Regional High.

Despite a wet, rainy morning on Sept. 19, junior high students from across the area gathered at the golf course in St. Paul to take part in the first junior St. Paul Athletics Association championship of the 2017-18 school year.

Breana Malcolmson has participated in the Terry Fox Run since she was a student at Glen Avon School, and over the years, the meaning behind the walk has continued to become very personal for the St. Paul resident.

It’ s a new hockey season, and the Portage College Voyaguers have themselves a new coach and even a new logo on the front of their jerseys as the team is looking for a new start this year.

The first week of school has arrived, and with that also comes the beginning of the official start of 2017 football season for the St. Paul Lions and Bengals.
