The rain did not let up through 90 minutes of play on May 7, but the U17 boys' soccer teams from St. Paul and Bonnyville hit the turf anyways at the Thomas Varughese Field in Cold Lake.

Saint played parts of five seasons with the Bonnyville Pontiacs and two years with the Royal Military College hockey team before signing with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL in February.

It was a weekend packed with hockey as the Mallaig Monarch U18 team hosted this year's Hockey Alberta U18 Tier 3 provincial tournament in the small community, located north of St. Paul.
