Members of the Bonnyville Karate-Do took home 25 medals from the Genbukai Canada karate championship held in Lloydminster this past weekend.

After a season of team roping in the Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, two local cowboys emerged at the top of the standings.

After not being drafted following his second year of bantam, Locke Muller's path to the Western Hockey League (WHL) has not been an easy one. Muller, 17, spent his childhood in St. Paul and grew up playing hockey for the St. Paul Canadiens.

It was a successful season for his team, but a tough way to end it, said Midget AA Northeast Panthers head coach Mike Pasichnuk. The Panthers lost all four games at this year's provincial championships, which were held in Taber March 24-27.

Forty-four teams competed at the men's and ladies combined curling bonspiel at a packed St. Paul curling rink between March 18-20.
