The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs have picked up points in five straight games (4-0-1) after going through one of their toughest stretches of the season two weeks back, where they lost four games in a row.

Archery enthusiasts gathered at the St. Paul Ag Corral over the weekend to take aim for the St. Paul Archery Club’s 18th annual 3-D shoot-out.

The Lac La Biche Bantam Rangers were on an eight-game winning streak going into last weekend, and after a slow start to the season, they have a solid grasp on third place in the league, with just three games left to play in the regular season.

Last Thursday evening, loud, catchy music and the familiar sounds of physical exercise could be heard at St. Paul’s Silhouette Dance School. In the school’s studio space, ballet and jazz teacher Raven White leads a group of participants in exercises.

The Saddle Lake Warriors lost both their weekend games, first against the Wainwright Bisons on Friday by 8 – 4, and then against the Lloydminster Bandits on Saturday by 11 – 3.

The Edmonton Chimos made a stop in Bonnyville to play their regular season match up against the Strathmore Rockies Sunday. The Chimos won the game 3-1 and local hockey product Jennifer Moe was named the Chimos player of the game.

The St. Paul Canadiens Junior B hockey team lost the team’s lone weekend game to the visiting Vegreville Rangers last Sunday by 10 - 0.

The Winter Festival of Speed has cancelled due to poor ice conditions on Lac La Biche, and the entire ice race car season has been put on hold by the governing body.
