Over the weekend the Bonnyville Centennial Centre hosted a midget minor hockey tournament. Teams from far away as Edson attended the tournament, with the Edmonton Storm taking first place, beating the Bonnyville Pontiacs in the final.

Genbukai Karate practitioners from as far as Saskatoon and from the local area came to Glen Avon School last Saturday to participate in the annual Genbukai Canada karate competition. The competition started at 10 a.m.

The Saddle Lake Warriors would come out on top in its skirmish against the St. Paul Canadiens, by a score of 2 – 5 in a game last Sunday evening at Saddle Lake’s Manitou Kihew hockey arena.

The Centennial Centre was buzzing Friday and Saturday and it wasn't because the Pontiacs were playing. The C2 Fieldhouse played host to Bonnyville Centralized High School's volleyball tournament.

The Bonnyville Pontiacs were at home for back-to-back games this past Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately the games did not go the way the team would have liked. They lost Friday to the Spruce Grove Saints 3-1, then lost again Saturday to the St.

The St. Paul Lions ended its remarkable Wheatland Football League championship run after a loss against the Lloydminster Composite Barons last Saturday afternoon in an away game.

About 300 competitors from across Alberta and Saskatchewan will be converging in St. Paul this Nov. 6 to take part in a Genbukai Canada karate tournament, sponsored by the northeast Alberta region.
