Sadly and with heavy hearts the family of JR (Bob) Fontaine of Garden Bay, B.C., formally of Bonnyville, announce his sudden passing on July 31, 2023 at the age of 67. Bob was predeceased by his father, Joseph Camille Fontaine. He is survived by his mother, Pearl Fontaine of Bonnyville, two sisters; Paulette Fontaine of Sherwood Park, Louise (Sean) Byrne of Fort Saskatchewan, and two brothers; Greg (Debbie) Fontaine of Bonnyville, Paul (Tina) Fontaine of Bonnyville, also numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. He will be remembered for his ability to make lifetime friends wherever he went. Because of his love for wildlife and nature, early in his life he was given the opportunity to work as a fishing and hunting guide at several lodges. He had many jobs throughout the years including a gunsmithing business before he left Bonnyville. He moved to Garden Bay on the Sunshine Coast several years ago and was happy to live a quiet life surrounded by nature. He will be missed for the unique and special person he was.
