Sadly, on June 9, 2023 after a long health struggle, Kenneth Roy Parks of Stoney Lake / County of St. Paul, Alberta, passed away in his home at the age of 71 years, surrounded by his family.  

Left to mourn his passing are his loving family and friends; his loving wife, Sheila; sons, Vern (Sheri) & Pat (Nina) Gerhardt; grandchildren, Alyssa, Nate, Josh, Jake, Ryan & Mya Gerhardt; sister, Ellen McBride; adopted cousin, Arne Bjorneskaret;  uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews, & numerous other loving & caring family & friends.  Ken was predeceased by his parents, Greta Bannan & Clarence Parks; as well as other close family & friends.  The family would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank those who respectfully cared for Ken, including his doctors Oyebode & Ashaolu, nurses & hospital staff; the Elk Point Health Centre Home Care & Palliative Care teams.  Special thanks to all those who loved & cared for Ken as we keep the memories of this special man tucked away forever in our hearts.  

A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Friday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating.   Those wishing to view the service online may do so by Livestream by clicking the Live Service tab on our website. A recording of the service will also be made available.  Lunch will follow the service at the St. Paul Seniors Centre.  As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  If desired, donations may be made to AHS - Elk Point Health Centre, Alzheimer Society, Parkinsons Association of Alberta, Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626 51 Street, St. Paul AB T0A 3A1.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
