We are sad to announce that Sophie Pietrzykowski of St. Paul, Alberta, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the golden age of 99 years. Sophie is survived by her children, Carol (Lionel) Foisy, Marjorie (Ed) Bouchard, Linda (Norman) Tessier, Susanne (Lonnie) Melnychyn, and daughters-in-law, Georgette Pietrzykowski and Shirley Pietrzykowski. Sophie was loved and will be missed by her 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Helen Sribney and Ann Krawchuk. Sophie was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, sons Gerry and Jim, brother William Baranowski, sister Esther Zazulak, and an infant great-granddaughter. A Prayer Service was held on Sunday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, with Reverend Father Michael Ngo officiating. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Marvin Tanquerido was the celebrant, with interment in St. Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Paul.
