Angele Pomerleau passed away at 1:45am on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at Chilliwack at the age of 73. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Tony Ribecco, her daughter Colette (Shaine) Boisvert, her sister Jeanette Pomerleau, and brothers Andre (Colleen) Pomerleau, Emile (Ronalee) Pomerleau, and Luc (Jackie) Pomerleau, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father Arthur Pomerleau, stepfather Douglas Lapointe, mother Marie-Rose Lapoint, and son Ronnie Boisvert.

Angele was born in St. Paul, Alberta. She also lived in Edmonton and Calgary before moving to the place she loved most in this world: Chilliwack, BC. When she moved to Chilliwack in 2006, she vowed to Tony that she was going to “reinvent herself” and live her life to the fullest – and that she did. She worked harder in retirement than most people do at a full-time job. She served her community in the most dedicated and tenacious manner by advocating for the public with city officials, for seniors in her community, organising block-parties in her neighbourhood, and of utmost importance, for her family whenever she saw the need to do so. She seldom took a minute off. She took dancing lessons, took Zumba classes, she played pickleball, she volunteered at The Legion, she played golf, among dozens of other activities. Her favorite pastime, however, was cycling and walking on the Vedder River Trail with her husband, her daughter, her granddaughters, great grandchildren, and her Chihuahua grandbabies.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for June of 2023 (information will be posted to hers and Colette’s Facebook page). Memorial Donations may be made in her name to The BC Cancer Foundation (www.bccancerfoundation.com).
