On July 8, 2023, John Blair Valance Cardinal of Frog Lake passed away at the age of 40 years. He is survived by 2 daughters, Alanca & Marilena “Izza”; son, Raymond; mother of his children, Chassity Moses; mother, Erma Whitstone; siblings, Norman, Cecile, Patricia, Michael (Twila), Melvin, Chris, Melina Quinney, Yvette (Lewis) Quinney & Logan Quinney; adopted sister, Charlene; adopted brother, Jared Poitras; Kokom, Edna Cannepotato; uncle, Hector Cardinal; numerous nieces, nephews & relatives from Saddle Lake. John was predeceased by his dad, Raymond; siblings, Lester, Louis, Beatrice, Sandra & Valerie Cardinal, Ferlin Quinney & Sabrina Wahsatnow; uncles & aunties, Tommy, Harry, Louis, James, Veronica Morin, Rosie Roy, Margaret Pasquayak & Ruby Whitstone. A Wake was held on Saturday & Sunday, July 22 & 23 at Norman C. Quinney Careers Centre, Frog Lake. A Funeral Service was held on Monday,July 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Norman C. Quinney Careers Centre, Frog Lake. Kevin Amahoose officiated, with interment in Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Frog Lake.
