While I recognize language evolves over time to meet the needs of daily conversation and correspondence, I worry that Canadians are losing their linguistic identity without even knowing it.

So, for those New Year’s Scrooges out there, I have a solution that may suit you better. Why not become a seasonal goal-setter. Everything has its season, so why not prepare and plan our goals to match it?

I don’t believe there are any other ways to avoid the backwards pull of the already-know, except for the forward motion of discovering the unknown, whatever that may be.

It might just be this simple — but when is it ever this simple?
