This week’s addition of The Henry Hype has me remembering a lesson I learned as a kid, and how it still stands true to this day.

Hello friends. This week’s edition of the Henry Hype has me sharing my struggles with finding my way around the Lakeland, and my most recent misadventure.

I know the feeling, snapping an amazing photo while you’re out of town and the longing to share it instantly that goes with getting the perfect shot. But there’s an important reason why you should avoid doing just that.

I had just flown in from Houston and was spending the evening with my parents. We were sitting next to the fire listening to music and the song “Small Town Saturday Night,” by Hal Ketchum came on.

Tragic The loss of a child. Unbearable. The news this weekend that an eight-year-old child lost his life in Lac la Biche Lake is numbing. A mishap. The unthinkable. In a blink, an afternoon of fun on summer’s last long weekend turns to tragedy.

“When are you getting married?” The earliest I remember being asked that question was way before I had an interest in dating, and years before I’d have a relationship close to leading to marriage.

This week’s edition of The Henry Hype is all about sharing my obsession with dogs, and how a Facebook post of puppies last week from the Lakeland Humane Society put the thought of owning one for the first time in my life in the forefront of my mind.

This week’s edition of the Henry Hype has me pondering the summer that never was, or the summer that went by in a flash.

When I look back on my childhood there are plenty of things that come to mind, but one of them stands out just a bit more than the rest. My love of reading stems from a very young age, and I have my parents to thank.

There’s a lot climbing a mountain can teach you, and no it has nothing to do with your need to work on your cardio or get better hiking shoes.
