Dear readers, My name is Robynne Henry, and I’m the new reporter for the Bonnyville Nouvelle . I can’t wait to report on the events in and around the community of Bonnyville, and take in everything this town has to offer.

Dear Editor, It is with a heart full of anger, shock, and disgust that I write this letter. On the afternoon of June 2, my parents and brother experienced the worst that mankind has to offer.

This topic has been lulling around my head for a while. I know where I stand on it, but it’s such a touchy subject. I’m talking about the legalization of cannabis.

How many accidents does it take for drivers to start paying attention to the road? Well, it seems we’ve yet to find the answer to that question.

Whenever you can help the environment by avoiding the use of chemicals, you should at least give it a try, and that’s what it looks like the MD of Bonnyville is doing, through their goat program. It’s a unique solution to a common problem.

The Town of Bonnyville recently received provincial funding to help with upgrades towards the pool. You can almost hear the residents across the region giving a brief and subtle round of applaus. They’re wondering if it will be enough.

Canada, the true north strong and - wait, how does the rest of it go? Over the past week, the last month rather, Canadians have shown their true form - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

With spring comes extremely dry conditions, and most of us should know what that means. Fire season is here. A fire advisory has been in place for over a week, and yet, over the weekend the area saw numerous grass and structure fires.

I didn’t even get to look around Bonnyville and the area properly and I’m setting off into the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s been just over a month since I moved to the Lakeland and started getting to know some people around town.
