ST. PAUL – The St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce kicked off Rodeo Week with a comedy night featuring Lisa Baker on Aug. 27. Over 100 people were in attendance.
Yvonne Weinmeier, executive director for the St. Paul chamber, said with Baker’s sharp wit, “She made many people giggle and laugh.”
“It was great,” said Weinmeier.
The night also provided businesses and community members with an opportunity to unwind over dinner and network with each other.
A silent auction rounded out the night with about 50 items donated by local businesses. Weinmeier said proceeds will go to KidSport, a cause that helps ensure children in the region have access to sports.
Weinmeier thanked all who came out, including sponsors and volunteers who helped make the night a success, noting the event was a welcome way to relax before a busy week of rodeo festivities. "I hope everybody had a really good night," she said.
