County of St. Paul greenlights 2024 oiling scopes

A slew of oiling road projects were approved by County of St. Paul council during the last regular Public Works meeting on March 26.

ST. PAUL – A slew of oiling road projects were approved by County of St. Paul council during the last regular Public Works meeting on March 26. 

The list includes some oiling and rip-and-pack projects that have been carried over from 2023. 

Division 6 

Spanning five miles, one of the approved projects includes Township Road 614, stretching from Range Road 112 west to Highway 866. 

Division 5 

In Division 5, a one mile stretch of Township Road 594 from Highway 881 west of Range Road 94 will be oiled. 

Also, work will be done on a 500-metre segment of Township Road 592 along the Willowgrove Cemetery, and the 900-mile stretch on Township Road 590 from Range Road 111 West to Range Road 111A.  

An 800-metre stretch on Range Road 103A from the northern side of Township Road 590 through the Hamlet of Owlseye is expected to be oiled this year too. 

Division 4 

Division 4 will have three roads oiled, including a one mile stretch on Township Road 584 from Range Road 111 east to Range Road 110. 

A 950-metre stretch of road from Range Road 100 south of Township 582, and an 800-metre stretch of Range Road 100 north of Township Road 580 will also be oiled. 

Division 2 

Five miles will be oiled in Division 2, including two miles on Township Road 572, east of Range Road 73 to Range Road 71. 

Work will also be done on Range Road 74, north of Highway 646, to Township Road 570; Township Road 562 west from Highway 41 to Range Road 71; and Township Road 560 from Range Road 73 west to Range Road 74. 

Division 1 

In Division 1, two miles of road on Township Road 562 from Range Road 41 west to Range Road 43, and Range Road 44 north of Township Road 560 to Township Road 555 will be oiled. 

County council will be deliberating the budget at a future council meeting when they discuss tenders.
