The emergency situation in Elk Point has resolved peacefully, according to RCMP.
"Elk Point RCMP have arrested one adult male at the scene with assistance of the Emergency Response Team. There were no injuries during the response. The arrested man will be brought before a justice of the peace in the coming hours," reads the media release received on Oct. 1 at 8:05 p.m.

Elk Point RCMP are looking for a male suspect, after shots were fired on Oct. 1, shortly before 1 a.m., at a residence on 49th Street, according to a RCMP media release sent out Tuesday afternoon.
RCMP were dispatched after receiving a complaint of a male with a firearm at a residence. Shots had been fired in the area, according to the release. No one was injured.
Later in the afternoon, RCMP informed schools in Elk Point to go into an immediate Hold and Secure position, at about 2:50 p.m. (Oct. 1), according to a letter posted on the schools' websites. The hold and secure was officially ended at 3:35 p.m., with buses arriving to get students later than usual.
Letters were posted on both the FG Miller Jr./Sr. High School website and Elk Point Elementary website.
All outside doors were locked and monitored and students were kept inside the school building as per protocol. Students were also held past dismissal time and buses were asked to wait at a safe location, according to the letter posted on the Elk Point Elementary website.
RCMP officers remain in town and have assistance from St. Paul GIS, Police Dog Services and Emergency Response Team, as they search for the male suspect.
"Sufficient police resources remain in place to ensure public safety," reads the release.
RCMP advise the public not to post police locations to social media. An update will be provided as soon as new information becomes available, according to RCMP.
