ST. PAUL - With funerals limited to just 10 people due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Paul Fire Department lined up its trucks along main street on Friday afternoon to honour the passing of former Deputy Chief Jim Wirsta.

Wirsta joined the St. Paul Fire Department in September of 1972, and retired in December 1997. The deputy fire chief "served his community faithfully, along with his wife Elaine who used to answer the Fire Phone back in the day," according information from the St. Paul Fire Department.

Rest in Peace DC Wirsta. The community is thankful for your service.
