ST. PAUL - Late night visitors to the Upper Mann Lake Golf Course were not out to play a round of golf but rather help themselves to liquor. However, local RCMP were on top of their game.

St. Paul RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress call to Upper Mann Lake Golf Course on July 13 at 11 p.m. Two individuals had been observed on surveillance footage allegedly stealing liquor.

"Responding members made patrols and found a suspicious truck in the area on Rge. Rd. 105 which was driving erratically. The vehicle was found a short time later crashed into a parked vehicle with both the driver and passenger side door left opened. Police Dog Services were called in and one male was located a short distance from the vehicle hiding in the bushes," RCMP stated in a media release.

Leroy Rosenkranz, 50, of Lac La Biche has been charged with numerous offences including break and enter, mischief, as well as six Traffic Safety Act violation tickets including no insurance, no registration and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.  He was released after a  judicial interim release hearing on $1,000 promise to pay.  He will be in court Aug. 17.

"The quick response of our members resulted in the apprehension of this male and criminal charges against one individual," noted Sgt. Robert Burgess.
