ST. PAUL - On June 19, a number of lemonade stands popped up throughout the Town of St. Paul - and across the province - as Lemonade Day took place.
The initiative offers your entrepreneurs the chance to learn about running a small business. Participants were even required to take out a business license and were helped through the process by Community Futures St. Paul-Smoky Lake.
Ava Murray was all smiles, despite some rain that pushed her stand into her parents' garage, on Saturday afternoon. She was proud to show off her ribbon that she earned for the best tasting lemonade in town.
A few blocks away, Molly Gratton was busy serving some young customers her pink lemonade. She too had a ribbon to display, after winning first place for having the best lemonade stand.
A number of other lemonade stands were scattered throughout town. Participants were encouraged to budget properly, clean up after themselves, and while they earned a few extra dollars they were also encouraged to donate some of those funds.
