Saddle Lake man arrested on drug and document charges

An Edmonton warrant led to a Saddle Lake arrest that uncovered suspected methamphetamine, stolen identification, and a stolen truck, resulting in multiple charges for a 26-year-old man.

SADDLE LAKE - A Saddle Lake man is facing a drug trafficking charge and six counts of illegal possession or trafficking in government documents.

St. Paul RCMP and Eastern District Crime Reduction Unit members arrested Lazare Christopher Favel, 26, in Saddle Lake on June 21. He was wanted on warrants out of Edmonton.

"In searching the male, incidental to the arrest, police found suspected methamphetamine, paraphernalia, Canadian currency, and identification cards presumed to be stolen. A stolen truck was also recovered nearby," according to an RCMP report.

Along with the execution of the warrants, Favel was additionally charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (crystal meth), possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5,000, and six charges relating to illegal possession or trafficking in government documents.

He was remanded into custody and will appear in court June 26.
