ST. PAUL - A well known adult choir in St. Paul is set to hit the stay on May 11 for a spring concert that will bring musicians of all ages together.

Les Musicos will be hosting a spring gala at 7 p.m. at the St. Paul Seniors' Centre, located behind the St. Paul cathedral. Admission to the concert is by donation.

The host group, known as Les Musicos, is an adult community choir that is made up of 30 to 35 members. Director Don Buryn and accompanist Patricia Gervais lend their talents to help bring the many songs together. Group founder, Laurier Levasseur, also guest directs the group occasionally, according to Buryn.

"The group has been together from back in the 1970s and continues to work together like a big family, learning many genres of musical experiences while meeting on Thursday nights," says Buryn.

This year's spring gala performance will also include some guests from the St. Paul Regional High School.

"Regional High Music consists of experiences offered to the local high school through teacher Bob Palinka. Students are encouraged to join and learn diverse musical skills including singing, instrumental, small group choral, band ensembles," explains Buryn.

Other musical guests from the community are also expected to perform at the gala.

The spring program consists of a variety of songs "to lift our spirits and enjoy the warming season," says Buryn, as he describes what people can expect at the spring concert.

Les Musicos perform throughout the year at seniors' residences and the choir also offers special performances around the Christmas season.

"The choir encourages singers to join if interested in singing four part choral works," says Buryn.
