Canada Day celebrations in Elk Point and Two Hills will both include flybys by the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 1.
The anticipated time of the flybys was not included in information released by the RCAF, but they confirmed both towns will get a view of a CF-188 Hornet, which will also be doing flybys of other Lakeland communities including Cold Lake, Lloydminster, Mannville, and Wainwright.
“The RCAF is proud to share in national events which allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of our personnel and aircraft to Canadians,” reads the press release.
The plane will fly no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in the path during the flyby, and participation is still subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.
