St. Paul - The Subway outlet in St. Paul was targeted by a man with a BB gun and hungry for cash June 30.

St. Paul RCMP are reporting that at about 8 p.m. they "arrived on scene and located a male in the back alley" who was later charged in the incident.

"The investigation revealed that a male entered the store and presented a firearm, pointing it at staff demanding money. He attempted to get into the cash register and broke the display case with the firearm, eventually stealing the tip jar," the police report alleges.

RCMP confirmed to Lakeland Today that the firearm was not discharged and was confirmed to be a BB gun. No one was physically injured during the offence.

Wilson Joseph Desjarlais, 28, of Saddle Lake was remanded into custody following a judicial interim release hearing and was scheduled to be in court July 13.
