Over 200 people decorate cookies at Portage College in St. Paul

On Dec. 7, the Portage College’s St. Paul campus was filled with over 200 community members decorating holiday themed cookies.

ST. PAUL – For many, decorating holiday cookies is less about perfection and more about the joy of spending time with loved ones, making something colourful and fun.

On Dec. 7, the Portage College’s St. Paul campus was filled with over 200 community members decorating holiday themed cookies, with the college providing icing, edible markers, and more, in partnership with the Town of St. Paul, explained Ashley Brown, marketing specialist at the college.

“Santa and Mrs. Claus are here too,” she said, gesturing to a queue of families taking photos with the red-clad couple.

Edna Gervais, community liaison and program support at the St. Paul campus, said the event was all about unity and having fun.

“It’s just a fun day for everybody to come out,” she said, before wishing everyone a happy holiday season.
