Pedestrian sustains serious injuries after being hit by truck in St. Paul

ST. PAUL - A 45-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after reportedly being hit by a truck at noon on Dec. 11 in St. Paul.

St. Paul RCMP, along with St. Paul Fire and EMS, responded to a motor vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian on 44th Street, just south of 50th Avenue in St. Paul, Monday.

"Preliminary investigation has revealed a pickup truck was travelling south on 44 Street when a pedestrian who was crossing the road was struck by the southbound vehicle," according to information from St. Paul RCMP. 

Police report that the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Therese Hospital and eventually to Edmonton for medical care. The woman is reportedly in stable condition.

No charges are anticipated at this time, according to police. The driver of the truck did remain on scene.
