Police look to public to help find stolen hunting rifles

On July 8, the Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter from a residence in the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement that took place sometime between July 5 and 7.

On July 8, the Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter from a residence in the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement that took place sometime between July 5 and 7.

A green Stackon gun safe, containing 16 firearms, was stolen from the residence.

Of the firearms stolen, there were two Chiappa rifles, several Henry rifles (10), one Marlin bolt action rifle, one Uberti rifle, and two Winchester rifles. All stolen firearms are hunting rifles, and most are .22 calibers. The total value of the stolen firearms is over $10,000.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding a suspect or whereabouts of the firearms to contact the Elk Point RCMP at 780-724-3964 or their local police.
