St. Paul 4-H Multi Club takes part in communications day

The St. Paul 4-H Multi Club held its communications day on Feb. 26, with a list of youth doing presentations and practicing their public speaking.

ST. PAUL - On Feb. 26 we had a full day of public speaking with 32 presenters at Portage College, in St. Paul.

The morning started off with two of our senior members acting as masters of ceremonies, Courtney Werstiuk and Kylie Lanza. They introduced the six judges and started off with three junior presenters followed by 15 junior speakers. 

Our top junior presenters were: 3rd - Alexandra Kerr with "My DIY Flashlight"; 2nd - Lyrik Yaceyko with "Practice makes Perfect"; and 1st - Payslee Trefenanko with "Twist and Tumble." 

Our top junior speakers were: 3rd - Madelyn Martin with "My Summer Vacation"; 2nd - Kash Kopecky with "Why I Never Get Board"; 1st - Joshua Charbonneau with "A Piece of Modern Day Technology."

We then had a delicious lunch thanks to PS Catering. After lunch we started our afternoon program with two more of our senior members acting as masters of ceremonies, Emily Yaremko and Taiten Reszel. They introduced our new panel of six judges. The afternoon started off with two intermediate presenters followed by six Intermediate speakers, followed by 5 senior speakers. 
 
Our top finishers were: 2nd - intermediate presentation was Bentley Looy with "Avalanche Safety"; and 1st was Kurt and Ethan Yaremko with "Are You Ready for Some Football."
 
Results from intermediate speeches include: 3rd - Nate Reszel with "Sledding in McBride";  2nd - Tyson Trefenanko with "100 Litres of Pancake Mix"; and 1st - Savannah Fontaine with "More Than A Sport."
 
Results from senior speeches include: 3rd - Addison Champagne with "Home grown";  2nd - Rhiana Champagne with "The Six Day prison"; and 1st - Mercedes Trefenanko with "Arnold Schwarzenegger."
