ST. PAUL - The temperatures are dropping and school buses have been cancelled for Jan. 11 by St. Paul Education.
The school division posted a bus status notice on Wednesday evening stating, "Due to the weather forecast calling for extreme wind chill conditions, St. Paul Education buses are cancelled for both the morning and the afternoon on Jan. 11,"
Despite buses being cancelled, schools will remain open.
"If your child is not attending classes tomorrow, please report their absence in the regular manner," reads the notice.
Due to final exams coming up for high school students, if a student is unable to make it to school to write a Diploma Exam, parents are asked to drive them to school if it is safe to do so.
"In the case that a student is unable to attend to write a Diploma Exam on the day it is scheduled due to inclement weather, they may have the exam deferred to the next writing period in April. Please contact your school principal if you have any questions," reads the notice.
When considering extreme cold. St. Paul Education cancels buses when the temperature and/or windchill is -40C or colder.
