St. Paul Farmers Market sees increased vendors and moves to Portage College

“We were running out of space, and we’ve got quite a bit more space here,” said Elizabeth Robbie, speaking to the recent relocation of the St. Paul Farmer's Market.

ST. PAUL – The St. Paul Farmers Market moved its location from the Centennial Senior Citizens Centre to Portage College’s earlier this month.

Elizabeth Robbie, among the Farmers Market’s organizers, thanked and credited the Centennial Senior Citizens Centre for providing them space. “We were treated excellently at the Centennial Centre,” she said.

And with the increase in vendors joining the Farmers Market, the move was made to accommodate them. “We were running out of space, and we’ve got quite a bit more space here,” she said, adding they can also expand into the hallways if needed. There’s also an area just outside Portage where they can put up tents.

“Portage is just fabulous. They also have their own little market during the fall, winter, and spring,” said Robbie, allowing both markets to support each other as well.

People can also find the Farmer’s Market via the Main Street, and Robbie hopes this will be an opportunity for more shoppers to drop by. Robbie thanked Portage College for the space. “We feel very, very welcome and accommodated, and oh my God, we’re just loving it.”
