St. Paul Museum offers warm drinks and snowy activities

As part of the Shiver Fest, the St. Paul Regional Family Community Social Services (FCSS) and the St. Paul Museum brought several activities for the community and youth to enjoy.

ST. PAUL - As part of Shiver Fest activities, St. Paul Regional Family Community Social Services (FCSS) and the St. Paul Museum organized several activities on Feb. 17 for the community and youth to enjoy, ahead of the Family Day long weekend.

Thomasina Hatch, museum curator, said FCSS staff organized activities such as snowshoeing and painting on the snow, while hot chocolate was provided by Tim Hortons, and the museum provided some cookies. A $2 craft was also set up inside the museum, in addition to a few other indoor activities for children to enjoy.

"It has been a fun day, and we had a good turnout, and we'd like to thank FCSS for doing the activity here," and bringing fun and more awareness to the museum, said Hatch.

Kim Ouellette, family education facilitator/programmer with the Lakeland Family Resource Network, which is housed within the Regional FCSS, said she enjoyed seeing people out having fun.

"We're just happy seeing the amount of families and kids that have come out and enjoyed our activities."
