St. Paul RCMP looking for suspect after reported robbery in back alley

RCMP in St. Paul are looking to the public to identify a suspect following an alleged assault and robbery that took place in a back alley in late April.

ST. PAUL - RCMP in St. Paul are looking to the public to identify a suspect following an alleged assault and robbery that took place in a back alley in late April.

According to information from RCMP, an elderly man was assaulted and robbed at a business located at 5029 50th avenue in St. Paul on April 27.

The victim reported that he was in the back alley to a St. Paul business when three men physically grabbed him then took his backpack and ran eastbound.

"The backpack contains personal Sri Lankan identification and currency belonging to the victim," according to police.

The male suspect that police are looking for is described as being between the ages of 20 and 40. He was wearing a black hoodie.

Anyone with information regarding the incident, or anyone who can identify the suspect, is asked to contact St. Paul RCMP at 780-645-8888.
