Students and staff celebrate 100 Days of Learning

Students at St. Paul Elementary School celebrated 100 days of learning with costumes and one hundred themed activities.

ST. PAUL - Students at St. Paul Elementary School celebrated 100 days of learning with costumes and 100-themed activities.

The number 100 is especially significant in Kindergarten to Grade 2 when it is specifically used to help children develop their “number sense” or understanding of what order numbers go in, how they relate to each other, and what numbers mean.

In one kindergarten class, students decorated their classroom with paper chains made of 10 loops each, to help understand that 10 groups of 10 things makes one group of 100.

Elsewhere in the school, kids dressed up like they were 100 years old, and even used a filter on photos for a sneak peek of what they’ll look like when they’ve been around a century.
