Youth arrested after armed robbery at 7-11

At about 5:46 a.m. on April 19, St. Paul RCMP responded to an alarm call of an armed robbery at the 7-11 on 50th Avenue in St. Paul.

At about 5:46 a.m. on April 19, St. Paul RCMP responded to an alarm call of an armed robbery at the 7-11 on 50th Avenue in St. Paul.

A male entered the store wearing a neck warmer over his face, brandished a gun and a knife, pointing them at the clerk. The male demanded money and threatened to shoot the clerk, according to an RCMP media release.

The male walked across the counter and stole lottery tickets and cigarettes before fleeing the store. The male was described to police and security footage was obtained.

A male youth was later located with the assistance of police dog services and was arrested for armed robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence, two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of breaching a youth sentence order and four counts of failing to comply with a recognizance entered into before a Justice.

An adult male was arrested in relation to this event and is under investigation with charges pending, according to the media release, dated April 20.
