Bonnyville RCMP have arrested one suspect in relation to the break-in last week where the suspects were known to the homeowner.
On June 11, RCMP identified 35-year-old Marjorie Nicholls driving at the Bonnyville Centennial Centre.
When additional police arrived, Anthony Marshall, a 33-year-old Cold Lake male, fled from the vehicle on foot but was soon arrested and charged with flight from police, resist/obstruct a police officer, three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order.
Nicholls was also arrested. The Bonnyville woman was charged with flight from police, possession of methamphetamine, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without registration, two counts of identity theft, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
According to Sgt. Kim Hillier, during a search police found a crossbow, rifle ammunition, a rifle barrel, a balaclava, a red bandana, meth, a scale, and a meth pipe.
Nicholls is connected to the earlier break-in police were investigating. As a result, she has been charged with forcible confinement, robbery, and theft of a motor vehicle.
Police are continuing to investigate the break-in and one suspect is outstanding.
Police on the hunt for suspects
MD peace officers called for police back-up after a vehicle fled from them on June 12.
It was approximately 8 p.m. when a peace officer attempted to pull over a red car.
"The vehicle fled south and hit the ditch," described Hillier.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
RCMP are asking for any information relating to a red Chevy Cavalier that may have been spotted in the area of Range Rd. 460 at the time of the offence.
Hillier said the suspects remain outstanding, and anyone with details should call the detachment at 780-343-7200.
Trucks stolen out of the area
A truck stolen out of Fort Kent has yet to be recovered.
On June 13, RCMP received a report of a white 1998 Dodge Ram taken from 50 Ave. in Fort Kent.
That same day, police were called about a 2001 white Ford Super Duty Lariat that had been taken from the industrial park in Bonnyville.
At the time of the theft, the Ford truck had license plate NTE 346.
RCMP looking for information relating to stolen trailer
A white utility trailer with license place 111 948 was stolen from a shop north of Bonnyville on June 7.
Police were notified of the theft just before 10 a.m.
“The property was recovered in St. Paul, however, suspects have not yet been identified,” noted Hillier.
Anyone who may have any information is encouraged to contact the detachment.
Police reminding people to lock up their belongings
Officers are stressing the need to secure your belongings after $2,500 worth of welding cables were taken from the bed of a truck parked at the Microtel Inn.
Police are investigating the June 10 incident and are reviewing video surveillance.
"It's a reminder to secure your belongings. We don't want to make it easy for the thieves," Hillier stated.
