BONNYVILLE – A driver of a dirt bike who sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to hospital on May 9 following a motor vehicle collision in the Town of Bonnyville, is also facing a charge under the Off Highway Vehicle Act.
The driver of the dirt bike was struck by a westbound truck on 43 Avenue that was turning south on 40th Street At 10:20 p.m. on May 9.
The driver of the truck did not see a dirt bike that was travelling eastbound on 43 Avenue, as the dirt bike had no form of lights, according to Bonnyville RCMP press release.
The lack of appropriate lights on the dirt bike has been identified as the cause of the collision, say police.
The driver of the dirt bike sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to an Edmonton area hospital.
The dirt bike driver is facing a charge under the Off Highway Vehicle Act, states the Bonnyville RCMP.
The current condition of the injured driver was not provided by police.
