Frank Frenchman adjourns his court matters

YIR - Frenchman

BONNYVILLE - Frank James Frenchman, the Bonnyville-Kehewin area man charged with second-degree murder in the death of 87-year-old Alfred Wagner, adjourned his matters to next month.

He appeared in St. Paul court this month and adjourned his matters to March 13.

The Alberta Court of Appeal granted Frank Frenchman bail after awarding him a new trial in January.

Frank Frenchman was convicted of second-degree murder in 2019, and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for at least 13 years. Following the trial, the accused expressed his desire to appeal the decision.

He was charged in 2016 alongside his sister Arizona Chastity Frenchman, following the October 2016 murder of Wagner, a Bonnyville senior who was found dead in his home.

Arizona Frenchman was convicted of manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in prison in late 2018.
