The Glendon Shevchenko Dance club presented its annual Zabava event on March 25 at the Glendon RCMP Hall.

GLENDON - The Glendon Shevchenko Dance club presented its annual Zabava event on March 25 at the Glendon RCMP Hall. This year’s club includes over 40 dancers of all ages and represents 26 families from the community.

Following a welcome dance where Victoria Voltner brought forward a traditional Ukrainian bread as a sign of hospitality, each of the groups took turns to impress the audience. The event, which included a supper, was sold out and brought about 400 community members together.

This year’s dance instructor was Jessie Balan, who has been with the club for the past four years. Next year will be the dance club’s 50th anniversary, with a celebration date of March 30, 2024 already set.
