Grease the musical takes centre stage at H.E Bourgoin

BONNYVILLE – Last week, the gymnasium of H.E. Bourgoin School was transformed into Rydell High for the musical production of Grease.

Grade 7 and 8 students from H.E.B. put on a sensational production, awing audiences with their final performance taking place on May 4.

Students and volunteers began rehearsing and preparing for the play in January. Countless hours were devoted to practicing lines, designing sets and costumes, as well as perfecting the shows lighting and sound.

The finale of Grease ended with a special tribute to H.E.B. teacher and play director Peggy Chick from the students.

Tears were shed as Grade 8 students expressed what the production has meant to them over the last five months and how sad they feel to depart for high school next year – no longer being able to take part in another H.E.B. play.
