Tyler David Grimes is a free man after serving his 15-day sentence.
Appearing in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse on Tuesday, May 7, Grimes was granted time-served.
He pleaded guilty to obstructing a peace officer and breaching his conditions after fleeing from police in early April.
On April 8, Bonnyville RCMP responded to a complaint about a suspicious male rooting through the garbage bins near an apartment building in town.
Police found the male and sent him on his way.
A few days later, the same officer, who was off-duty, spotted the accused walking down 49 Ave.
The off-duty officer reported it to an on-duty member and located Grimes, who was wanted on outstanding warrants.
When police went to speak to Grimes, he fled on foot, running through the backyard and garage of an elderly resident.
The suspect was later located in a nearby apartment building and arrested.
Honourable Judge Clifton Purvis agreed to the joint submission of 15 days globally.
