Police say meth and Mercedes are part of Bonnyville-area drug bust

RCMP GIS arrest four in La Corey and B'ville searches

After months of investigation, police say four Bonnyville-area residents are now facing numerous drug-related charges.

A joint force of the Bonnyville RCMP's General Investigation Section (GIS), with the assistance of other Bonnyville RCMP members, Cold Lake RCMP Police Dog Services, and the RCMP's Lakeland Region Crime Reduction Unit made the arrests after searching properties in Bonnyville and La Corey over the weekend.

Police say Saturday's concurrent searches found what they believe to be a "significant" quantity of drugs, including 775 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $62,000, as well as 90 grams of heroin, 50 grams of cocaine, and 191 tabs of LSD. The overall street value, say police, is almost $90,000.

The searches also found $10,405 in Canadian currency, a Mercedes C-Class car, a Chevrolet Yukon SUV, a Pontiac G-6 and four high performance motorcycles.

Police have arrested Cory Randall Fletcher, 42, Gage Randall Fletcher, 21, Naomi Dawn Kells, 29, and Jennifer Kathleen Slipchuk, 34, all of Bonnyville. The four are charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Police could not confirm the relationship between Cory Randall Fletcher and Gage Randall Fletcher.

Cory Fletcher is facing three additional charges of failing to comply with court orders and a charge of driving while prohibited. He remains in custody pending his next court appearance on Tuesday, September 15 in Bonnyville. The remaining three were all released by a Justice of the Peace with no financial obligations to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Tuesday, October 20.
