RCMP continue to be on the lookout for a black 2015 Chevrolet Cruze bearing the Alberta licence plate CMH 9102 that had been stolen while idling on Bonnyville’s Main Street.

A 39-year-old Bonnyville man was alleged to have been caught breaking into individual mailboxes at the Bonnyville Post Office on the evening of March 13.

"We have gained so many things, but we lost things in the process too," says local historian and former Town of Bonnyville councillor Ray Prevost, looking back on the town's 75-year history. 

The MD of Bonnyville’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Department outlined its successes of 2022 during its fourth quarterly report, which also included a handful of completed projects that have been on the books since 2020.

The MD of Bonnyville’s manager of Waste Services highlights changes to the Cleanfarms’ ag jug recycling program and the extension of an Alberta electronics recycling pilot project that will see certain MD sites continue to accept over 600 types of electronic items for recycling.

"We could one day have the issue, but today we don't," said Al Hoggan, Chief Administrative Officer for the MD of Bonnyville.

Dozens of 4-H members from the Bonnyville District competed at a Public Speaking event held in Ardmore on Feb. 26. Later this month, the top six speakers and presenters will head to Wainwright to compete at regionals.

On a chilly Saturday morning, anglers gathered at Angling Lake, located about half an hour east of Bonnyville, for a day of fun and fishing during the Bonnyville Pontiacs’ 3rd Annual Ice Fishing Derby.

So far, the Bonnyville Pontiacs are tied in their playoff series with the Lloydminster Bobcats. Depending on how the series swings, the Town of Bonnyville’s mayor could find herself in the opposing team’s jersey, following a friendly wager between the teams’ municipalities.

Local boxers Cooper Goliquer and Jeremy Fagnan had a successful showing at the Clash of the Titans III: Uprising event held on March 4 at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.
