Although concerns were heard regarding the expansion of a campsite in the MD of Bonnyville, council opted to move ahead with approving the request following discussions during a recent public hearing. 

On May 28, Esther Quiambao, general manager of planning and community service, presented a reformation of the MD of Bonnyville's grant process that was approved by council.

On May 24 and 25 Lakeland Heat Lacrosse Jr. B Tier 2 team played at the Bonnyville RJ Lalonde Arena.

On May 25, the Bonnyville Shooting Sports Association put on a free ladies' shoot, offering women of all skill levels the opportunity to learn about firearms. No gun license was required to participate, and 40 participants took part.

Rainy day bridge cleaning north of Bonnyville

A 55-year-old man was arrested after police received two separate calls regarding a pickup truck driving around the Sportsman Trailer park running into trailers and narrowly missing pedestrians.

The MD of Bonnyville’s public works shop held an open house for National Public Works Week, May 25.

Bonnyville Centralized High School student Esther Yang placed fourth in the 2024 Caring for our Watersheds contest with her Waste to Wash project. 

May is sexual violence awareness month (SVAM), and the Dragonfly Centre, Bonnyville’s sexual violence support service, has been working to create awareness around the topic over the past few weeks.

The Bonnyville EMS hall opened its doors to the public on May 22. There was a free barbecue, a showcase of some of the equipment including an ambulance, and activities and giveaways for children.
