ELK POINT – It took three and a half hours, but Elk Point Town Council’s special meeting last Tuesday did not require a second evening of deliberation to take care of the interim 2024 Capital Budget and interim 2024 and 3-Year Operating B

Much warmer temperatures than the past few years brought out a good crowd to Elk Point’s Remembrance Day gathering, with many joining the veterans and dignitaries as they marched to the cenotaph, its flag at half-mast and its flame flickering in the breeze. 

Students, staff and parents at Elk Point Elementary School paused to remember and honour all those who served our country in the past at Wednesday’s Remembrance Day observances, and gained new insight into life in the military from one of today’s soldiers. 

Kids had fun getting in the Halloween spirit with a pumpkin decorating activity at the Cornerstone Co-op in Elk Point.

Mayor Parrish Tung and CAO Ken Gwozdz have agreed to attend the Nov. 14 inaugural meeting of a new regional healthcare committee organized by the office of MLA Scott Cyr in collaboration with Alberta Health Services.

The results are in, and Elk Point has received a Three Bloom rating in the Novice Non-Competitive level of Alberta Recreation and Parks Association’s Alberta edition of the Communities in Bloom Program.

ELK POINT – The Town of Elk Point held its 2023-24 Organizational Meeting on Oct. 23, with new Deputy Mayor Wanda Cochrane taking the oath of office, succeeding Tim Smereka in that position.

Elk Point’s first approved farmers market opened its doors at the Allied Arts and Leisure Centre on Thursday, with over 40 tables offering a wide range of products to an eager crowd.
