Elk Point Elementary School students William Ballas, Hunter Pankiw and Theo Loughran welcomed an appreciative crowd to the school’s “new and improved Spring Showcase” and tea on May 12.

An event that was put on the back burner last year is back in the spotlight for June 3, with a fly-in at the Elk Point Airport added to a day that includes the Elk Point Auto Club’s annual Show and Shine and the book and garage sale at the Elk Point Municipal Library.

With the provincial election less than two weeks away, it’s candidate forum time across the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul constituency, with the Elk Point Economic Development Committee hosting its forum on May 11.

ELK POINT – Property taxes saw an increase across the board for Elk Point ratepayers when town council set their 2023 mill rates at the April 24 meeting. All residential and farmland property will be taxed at 10.0234 mills, compared to 9.

Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors Devin Dreeshen made a stop in Elk Point on April 24, following his visit to Bonnyville earlier in the day.

The following presentation was put together by sisters Shaylyn and Shyanne Klatt of Elk Point 4-H Beef Club. The pair won first place at the provincial 4-H competition.

The community’s derelict buildings and winter streets laden with ice and snow made it “challenging to show properties” and had an impact on local real estate sales, according to an Elk Point realtor.

The Elk Point and District Choral Society was still in its earliest stages in March 1994, when society member Don Conrad took to the stage in its very first dinner theatre production, ‘The Truth About Cinderella’.

The Elk Point 4-H Beef Club had their Mini Achievement day on April 7.

It was a full house for pancakes, fun-filled morning for Elk Point Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt over the Easter weekend.
