Canada Day on the course

Lac La Biche golfers with "Glowing hearts" look for the perfect shot

The Canada Day Hole In One fundraiser at the Lac La Biche Golf Club turned the greens into a sea of red and white.

The annual fundraiser at the lakeside golf course drew 200 golfers — many dressed in red and white and trailing the Canadian Flag behind golf carts. There were a few Canada flag umbrellas on display as well, with rain clouds threatening for most of the day, but only a few brief showers interrupted the hunt for the illusive hole in one shot.

While there were no aces registered this year, several closest-to-the pin winners were within just a few inches.

The tournament has been held for the last 20 years and turns the every hole on the par 72 course into a 150 yards-or less par 3.
