Carjacker Suspect Arrested on Highway 63

On May 31, 2014 Boyle RCMP received a complaint of a carjacking from a work camp along Highway 63 near Wandering River, Alberta.

On May 31, 2014 Boyle RCMP received a complaint of a carjacking from a work camp along Highway 63 near Wandering River, Alberta. The Victim reported she was standing outside her work vehicle when a man from the work site got in to the driver seat in order to take the vehicle. The Victim attempted to get in to the vehicle as the vehicle was being driven away and in the process was dragged for approximately 30 metres before falling. The Victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The suspect was located near Grassland, Alberta in the stolen SUV and was arrested without incident roadside. A male from Illinois, USA is facing criminal charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Assault, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Cannabis Marihuana and is set to appear in Boyle Provincial Court on July 8th, 2014.

On May 31, 2014 Boyle RCMP received a complaint of a home invasion in progress in Caslan, Alberta. Officers were in the area and arrived on scene in a matter of minutes where the homeowner reported she was in bed when the door to her residence was forced open and three suspects entered the residence. The homeowner was able to scare the suspects away and Boyle RCMP located two of the suspects a short time later after a short search through the woods. Chance BOUDREAU of Buffalo Lake is facing criminal charges of Break and Enter with Intent, Attempted Armed Robbery, Breach of Probation, Prowling at Night, and two counts of Mischief under $5000. A youth is facing similar charges and will not be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both have been remanded in custody to appear in Boyle Provincial Court on June 10th, 2014. A second youth is wanted in connection with this matter and a warrant is being sought for their arrest.

A woman was airlifted by STARS to an Edmonton Area Hospital after she fell off of an off-highway vehicle. On June 2nd, 2014 at around 9:00 PM Boyle RCMP and emergency services were called to a resident’ s home for a report of an injured woman. The investigation is continuing but it is believed that the woman was sitting on a fender on the quad when she fell off after the vehicle made a turn. During the fall she sustained unspecified injuries and her condition is not known at this time. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this injury collision. A male is facing a charge of Careless operation of an off-highway vehicle under Section 120(2) of the Traffic Safety Act. Boyle RCMP would like to remind off-highway vehicle users that only as many occupants as the vehicle is designed for should be riding on the quad and in proper seats.
