Julian Austin to perform at Pow Wow Days

Canadian Country Music Association award winner Julian Austin says he's looking forward to the Pow Wow show in Lac La Biche this summer.

He's got five studio albums recorded, had several top 20 Canadian chart toppers and was the first New Year's Eve entertainer to grace the Bold Center stage in 2012. And this year Julian Austin will be headlining the Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days August long weekend event.

Austin spoke highly of his last Lac La Biche visit and said he was looking forward to his return for Pow Wow Days when the POST caught up with him at a recent show in Fort McMurray.

Austin, who is known for jumping music genres from rock to country in his live performances was at Fort McMurray's Boomtown Casino last weekend, performing at the same time a crew of Lac La Biche volunteers were working the casino.

Caught just before going on stage, Austin spoke highly of his Lac La Biche experience as he posed for a few photos with members of the Lac La Biche Kinsmen club.
"It's going to be a great time," he said of the upcoming Pow Wow dates. "I can't wait to get there."

With a set list that spans the music charts from his own recognized singles such as Little Ol Kisses and What My Heart Already Knows, to rock and roll anthems from Dr. Hook, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Trooper, Austin is a bar-band favourite with a stadium-sound presence.

This year's Pow Wow Days runs from August 2-4. For more details on when Austin is playing and ticket availability, keep checking the Lac La Biche POST.
