LAC LA BICHE - Two hand-written notes taped to the locked doors in red felt-tipped pen told Lac La Biche residents going into the community's Canada Post office on Tuesday that the main office was closed.
While mailbox access in the main foyer area was open, the counter and customer service area was closed, locked and dark during regular office hours.
The local post office's main phone line rang unanswered during the day.
Officials with other Canada Post offices in the region say the sudden closure is temporary, explaining only that it was COVID-related.
They say the local mail office customer service area is expected to be open on Wednesday.
