Slo-pitch on offer during Lac La Biche Summer Days

The 12-team tournament took place at the Bold Centre ball diamonds from Aug. 3-5.

The annual Lac La Biche Summer Days celebration-which took place over the August long weekend-included a slo-pitch tournament that featured 12 teams from the Lakeland region, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, and other parts of northern Alberta and took place at the Bold Centre ball diamonds. There were no teams from Lac La Biche, and the few Lac La Biche-area players who participated played for other teams, including Bonnyville.

The slo-pitch tourney got underway on Aug. 3, with the teams competing in three pools-A, B, and C. Those teams all played each other for cash prizes during the playoffs, which were held on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5.
